The Decatur Chamber of Commerce member listing was read on 2026-08-29 and its entire description reads Heating and A slash C Service and Installation. Six words. That is not a summary of a longer page, it is the whole thing, and it is the most anybody has ever written about this business anywhere that opened. The listing carries no website, no email address, no hours and no outbound links at all, not even a Facebook one, which makes it the emptiest member page read on any run so far. A furnace failing in February is an emergency somebody searches for on a phone, and there is nothing of yours for them to land on. This page is a free demonstration built on 2026-08-29 and nobody here asked for it or paid for it. Call (260) 724-2010 if you would rather hear this from a person.
Everything below came off a page that opened and was read on 2026-08-29. There are two such pages. The chamber listing carries six words of description, a year, an address, a telephone number and the owner's name. The neighborhood listing carries an address, a telephone number, a category and a button inviting somebody to claim it, and no description whatsoever. Between them that is the complete written record of a heating and cooling business that the chamber says opened in 1994. The headings below are drawn out of those six words rather than invented on top of them, and anything this page cannot answer goes to (260) 724-2010.
The first word of the six. Service is the half of this trade that pays the bills in an ordinary year, and it is also the half that gets searched for at the worst possible moment, on a phone, by somebody standing in a cold house. What that person finds today is a directory listing with no hours on it, so they cannot tell whether ringing at seven in the morning is reasonable, and a great many of them will simply ring whoever answers first.
The other half of the seasonal swing, and the one that arrives all at once in the first genuinely hot week. Nothing published anywhere says whether you take on window units, heat pumps or straight central air, or what the difference is when you turn up. Six words cannot carry that, and a page of its own can, which is most of the argument for having one.
The last word of the six, and the one attached to the largest cheque a homeowner in this trade ever writes. A replacement furnace or a new system is a considered purchase, which means the buyer reads before they ring, and there is nothing of yours to read. They end up reading somebody else's page instead, and by the time they call anybody they have already decided what they think a fair price is.
Most shops of this age also handle ductwork, thermostats, humidifiers, water heaters or commercial work. Some of that is very probably true here. None of it is written down on either page that opened, so none of it appears on this demonstration, because the whole point of this page is that it prints what was read and nothing else. Every one of those is a heading you could fill in a single conversation.
The chamber listing gives a street address in Decatur and stops. It does not say how far the van goes. Somebody in Berne, Monroe or out toward Fort Wayne has no way to know whether you would come to them, and the ordinary human response to not knowing is to ring somebody who says so plainly. Naming the towns out loud costs nothing and is one of the highest value sentences a page like this can carry.
The chamber prints McIntire Heating and Air Conditioning with the word and spelled out. The neighborhood listing prints it with an ampersand. Those are small differences to a person and meaningful ones to a search engine, which treats them as two slightly different things and splits whatever weight the business has between them. A page under one settled name, linked to from everywhere else, is how that gets fixed.
The chamber member listing carries no image of the business, the work or the premises. The neighborhood listing carries none either, along with no description, no recommendations and no hours, and it displays a button asking whether this is your business, which means nobody here has ever claimed it. So there is nothing for a customer to look at before they decide to ring. That matters more than it sounds in a trade where the buyer is letting a stranger into the house. The images below are stand ins and they are labeled as such.
Nobody researches heating contractors for pleasure. The search happens when something has already gone wrong, usually on a phone, usually in a hurry. The pages that come back are the ones with a real site behind them, and yours is not among them, because there is not one.
If they get as far as the chamber directory, what they find is Heating and A slash C Service and Installation, an address and a number. It is accurate and it is not persuasive, because there is nothing there to be persuaded by. No hours, no service area, no photograph, no sense of whether this is a one van shop or a ten van one.
The neighborhood listing has your address, your number and a category, and it also has a button asking whether this is your business. It carries no description at all. To a reader, an unclaimed listing does not read as a business that is too busy to bother, it reads as a business that might not be there any more.
Neither page publishes a working week. When somebody has no heat, the single most useful thing a page can tell them is when a human will answer, and the second most useful is whether anybody answers outside those hours. Yours does not tell them either, and the cost of that is invisible, because the person who rings somebody else never gets in touch to say so.
This page was not made by McIntire Heating and Air Conditioning. It is a free demonstration, built on 2026-08-29 from the two pages that could be opened and read that day, to show what a page of your own could look like. Every fact on it came off a page that loaded. The chamber lists Year Opened 1994 and names Kevin McIntire as the owner, and this page repeats both and nothing more. Where nothing was published, and a great deal is not published, this page leaves the space empty and says why, rather than filling it with the sort of sentence every heating company website already has. Nothing here is a promise made on your behalf. Anything this page cannot answer goes to (260) 724-2010.
Seven empty rows, on purpose. Neither of the two pages read on 2026-08-29 publishes a working week for this business. The chamber listing has no hours field at all and the neighborhood listing leaves its own hours section blank. Rather than pick a plausible looking eight to five and print it here, this block says out loud that the hours are not published, because saying that is honest and a guess is not. In heating and cooling this is the single most expensive blank on the page, because the person reading it usually has no heat or no cool air right now and wants to know whether ringing is worth it. Seven real rows would take about a minute to say. Anything urgent goes to (260) 724-2010.
Both pages read on 2026-08-29 agree on this address, which is more than can be said for most records, and one of them adds a map pin for it. What neither of them says is how far you travel. There is no service area written down anywhere, in any form, so a reader in Berne or Monroe or out toward Fort Wayne is left guessing, and people who are guessing tend to ring somebody who is not making them guess. One sentence naming the towns would fix that permanently and it is the first thing a real version of this page would carry. Call (260) 724-2010.
Neither of the two pages read today has a contact form on it, and neither publishes an email address. The neighborhood listing offers a reader a Claim page button, which is aimed at you rather than at a customer, and a Recommend button, which does nothing for somebody who simply wants a service call booked. So the only route in is a telephone call to (260) 724-2010 during hours nobody has published. That quietly rules out everybody who noticed the problem at nine at night and meant to deal with it in the morning, which in this trade is most people.
